THE TEAM

We're fans who help fans everywhere access the live events they love. A proud division of Live Nation Entertainment, Ticketmaster has changed the way the world connects with their favorite artists, teams, and shows, and we continue to shape innovation every day. We're not just selling tickets (though we do that better than anyone else!), we're enriching lives one amazing experience at a time. And we think that's pretty amazing.

We are also engineers at heart and are passionate about using cutting-edge technology alongside proven, venerable workhorses to unlock capabilities for other teams and, ultimately, unforgettable moments of joy for fans!

The greater Core Ticketing Host team owns, maintains, and is modernizing the piece of software that started Ticketmaster: the Host Ticketing System, which defined an industry and, after more than four decades, continues to set new standards and is beloved by thousands of users within the industry!

If you're passionate about the magic of live entertainment like we are, and you want to work at a company dedicated to helping millions of fans experience it, we want you on our team.

THE ROLE

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a Scottsdale, Arizona-based but geographically disbursed team – the Core Ticketing Gateway Services team, part of the larger Core Ticketing Host team!

You will work closely with product, quality, program, tech ops and engineering to deliver value rapidly. You will also serve as a liaison to senior management reporting on the status of current projects, identifying obstacles with associated impacts and proactively recommending solutions.

You will collaborate with performing teams to deliver new capabilities in business applications and remediate issues. You will receive assignments in the form of objectives, and it will be up to you to determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. You can analyze workflow and to delegate projects to team members to meet department goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage a key team of software engineers at all career levels from entry level to seasoned veterans.
• Managing, in concert with Scrum Managers, Project, Program, and Product Managers, the agile process for the team, adapting where necessary.
• Work with partners in Product, PMO, and other engineering teams to develop technology roadmaps that balance the priorities of our business partners with the health and stability of our systems, and the need to pay down tech debt.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, trust, and autonomy.
• Encourage simplicity in designs by working with Product and customers to reconcile new requirements with existing implementations, informing and influencing tradeoffs when required.
• Keep abreast with and embrace emerging technologies, encourage experimentation and proofs-of-concept from within the team to solve touch technological challenges.
• Ensure that our systems remain secure and compliant, including maintaining compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards and internal audit controls.
• Manage expectations, dependencies and deliverables with external teams and stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Conceptual familiarity with high-throughput transactional engines, real time operating systems, or other high volume systems.
• Comfort with describing, evangelizing, and spec'ing low-level programming concepts, including assembly languages, C/C++, and Rust.
• Some management or supervisory experience, particularly within a software engineering environment is preferred – but not required.
• The Host platform is the workhorse at Ticketmaster. By matching that reliability, you will earn the trust of clients, co-workers, and fans. You will need to set clear expectations and deliver.
• As a leader of a key part of the Host platform, at the bottom of the software stack, you will have to work collaboratively with leaders, stakeholders, and engineers from all across the company – and beyond.
• You approach problems with an open mind to not only solve the immediate problem but also with an eye for how it might impact the long-term vision.
• As a leader, you will lead various meetings and will be responsible for setting a vision for the team and the products.
• COVID-19 vaccination will be required for this position subject to legally valid exemptions
