Job Description

OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

The purpose of this role is to support the Field Technology Manager in ensuring all technology solutions and services operate seamlessly in the field. This role is also pivotal in the identification of opportunities to implement new technologies and solutions to improve the efficiency and delivery of world class solutions and services.

This role works closely with key suppliers related to event IT services and is typically the external face of IT Operations, particularly vendors. You will take the lead in relation to management of venue technology solutions working with the Field Technology Manager to support implementations, processes and policy's management. This role will play a key part in training other engineers, developing troubleshooting and support procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Take the technical lead in relation to all activities required to design solutions to support Ticketmaster field technologies, including box office/outlet point of sale systems and venue access control platforms across Australia. Including client integrations (including wireless)
• Interface with counterparts in the global Ticketmaster organisation for the support and enhancement of Field Technology products and solutions.
• Assist in the implementation and oversee a robust procurement process for hardware and software used across the IT function.
• Provide leadership in the areas of technology best practice and lead Field Engineers by example
• Assist in the development and subsequently lead a training program for Field IT staff, including documentation and process management
• Assist in the development and maintainance of technology roadmaps of Field Technology for Australia and New Zealand
• Work closely with vendors and outsource providers, ensuring adherence to service levels and negotiate suppliers contracts in conjunction with the Field Technology Manager where required.
• Coordinate all investigations, feasibility studies and surveys of proposed and existing technology for agreement with senior management.
• Ensure the security and integrity of Field Technology systems.
• Consult on the provision of Field IT Support, establishing appropriate procedures and protocols to manage the range of problems identified by staff or clients on a day to day basis (including escalation of issues)
• Oversee the provision of support for new clients to ensure effective implementation of technology
• Carry out any other tasks, including tasks that may be outside the usual scope of the position, as required by the company.

INDUSTRY
• Keep abreast of relevant domestic and international industry technology developments, relating to: Live entertainment & ticketing related services/ E-Commerce/ Competitors/ marketplace dynamics and wireless technology and provide professional insight and analysis on support trends with recommensation for continuous improvement

COMPLIANCE
• Understand and deliver to contractual requirements as agreed with venues, promoters and paying customers
• Ensure compliance in areas including; Trade Practices, Privacy, Occupational Health & Safety, and other regulatory expectations.
• Ensure standards of corporate governance and business ethics are maintained

PROJECTS
• Lead the technical planning, logistics, implementation, support and reporting of projects including installations, annual events and any other project that may be allocated.
• Maintain project documentation and provide progress updates to both the Field Technology Manager, clients and key suppliers as required.
• Provide advice and technical expertise to relevant parties to ensure the smooth running of projects and major events.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
• Ability to coach, develop and motivate staff.
• Well developed interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• A demonstrated ability to share knowledge via effective communication to diverse groups of people with different skill levels and technical aptitude.
• Tertiary qualifications in a computer related discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
• Previous experience in service delivery or field support would be advantageous

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and Public Holidays where necessary and to manage a flexible working roster. Ability to travel regularly interstate.

Demonstrated strong working knowledge of the following hardware and software:
• Wireless platforms both controller based and hand-held/standalone systems (Cisco and Aruba preferred) is critical
• Mobile data platforms
• Microsoft Operating Systems.
• Windows networking solutions.
• CISCO networking platforms.
• PC and Intel Server hardware and dumb terminal platforms.
• Business and/or venue applications – preferrable
• Computer peripheral devices such as printers, scanners etc
