Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Program Management who can apply the principles of professional project management to develop our products, tools and service offerings within our complex global organization.

In this role you will be knowledgeable about the business and its strategic goals. You will work with your team and other Enterprise and Field Operations teams to ensure projects and programs are aligned and prioritized to support strategic initiatives within specific business verticals. You will manage a team of project and program managers in a mixed methodology environment, and will work together to provide a consistent, reliable service to sponsors, stakeholders, and colleagues. You will provide advice, coaching and support on all aspects of teamwork, project and program management, governance and control, methodologies, and organization of the business. Accountable for project and program delivery, you will be comfortable with complexity and will have the aptitude and contextual perspective to understand how multiple parts work together.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Maintain a good understanding of the Ticketmaster business and its strategic goals and ensure projects and programs are aligned, prioritised, and optimised to support the business in achieving its strategy
• Continuously demonstrate the principles of professional project management and ensure project management organization (PMO) principles, processes, methods and tools are deployed effectively to enable delivery while effectively managing risk
• Track project and program metrics and maintain accountability for delivery and work with leadership to provide strategic and tactical advice on planning and execution
• Comfortable with complexity with a high level, contextual perspective and understanding for how multiple parts work together to fulfil a strategic objective that can transform business
• Recruit and develop project and program managers, hold regular 1:1's and performance management reviews, agree personal objectives and be able to translate performance improvements into financial values
• Provide advice, coaching and support on all aspects of teamwork, project and program management, governance and control, methodologies, and organisation of the business
• Proven experience within the fields of Project and Program Management
• Analyse and provide regular status reports that are objective and reflect the true state of progress
• Ensure that projects/programs are executed within specified timeframes and budget in accordance with quality and benefit targets using defined controls, processes and support tools
• Collaborate with teams to identify, log, track and resolve principles of professional project management such as Risk, Issue, Dependency, Decision and Change Management, Resource and Capacity Management and leverage these to improve control and visibility
• Mange the complete lifecycle and facilitate the team to transition from phase to phase
• You will be passionate about continuous improvement and the benefits that formal improvement techniques can bring to the organisation
• Champion, maintain and improve PMO best practises to ensure the company and new members of the team are aware of and understand the value in these processes and principles
• Provide advice and guidance to new or junior members of the team and provide support to colleagues and managers alike
• Coordinate activities to promote workflow and manage escalations either within the team or to sponsors and executives when needing steer
• Work with the recruitment team to hire diverse knowledgeable candidates.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)
• Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree desired
• 10+ years' experience working within Technical Project Management with management experience desirable
• Demonstrated technical project management skills
• Experience with managing technical and operational projects related to infrastructure, including hardware, software and networking
• Successful track record in working with business and technology teams to define, develop, test and launch new products
• Experience in authoring project plans, building a project budget and technical requirements
• Experience with Agile, Lean and other project management methodologies are beneficial
• PMI certification beneficial
• Multi Lingual skills preferred, specifically for Spanish and French
• Demonstrated ability to think outside the box and generate creative solutions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details
• Flexibility that allows effective teamwork with people at all levels of the organization
• Ability to negotiate for competing resources and to generate consensus among multiple priorities
• Can work independently while working collaboratively
• Experience managing staff, especially project management staff beneficial
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, fluid environment with ever-changing priorities
• Interest in staying involved with fast-changing Internet technologies and tools
• Demonstrated desire to identify and pursue alternatives to meet goals
• Experience with network operations and administration is desirable
• Experience with web technologies is preferred
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines is a must
• Proficient in using technology as a management reporting tool and experience working with information technology staff to develop and implement program evaluation systems
• Should be a functional and operational technology generalist without a strong adherence to a specific platform

YOU (BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
• Excellent leadership traits that promote a highly functioning team environment based on trust, respect, and cross-organization collaboration
• Strong aptitude to motivate, mentor, and lead company and client staff in a team driven environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – ability to influence
• Candidate must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work in an agile environment
