Role Description
The Assistant Financial Accountant plays a key role in delivering LN's reporting requirements for the UK group, including monthly and quarterly balance sheet and GAAP company reporting (where we record our differences between UK and US accounting and our consolidation adjustments), statutory account filings (including consolidations), and group and statutory audit coordination. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the role supports the Financial Reporting team, ensuring accurate posting of transactions within accounts, timely production of reconciliations, and that any issues within accounts are dealt with appropriately and promptly.

Essential
• Previous experience working in a finance function
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel knowledge
• Strong administration & time management skills

Desirable
• Experience with Oracle and BPC
• Awareness of Financial Reporting Standards, including new FRS 102
• Experience dealing with auditors and preparing statutory accounts (using Caseware)
• Part-qualified accountant and/or studying (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

What the role includes
• Assisting with the monthly Group consolidation reporting under US and UK GAAPs by calculation and posting of monthly GAAP company balance sheet / below the line journals into Oracle and preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for those accounts
• Preparation of Group and individual company statutory accounts under FRS 102 (excel based and using Caseware software)
• Preparation of tax packs for the tax department
• Collation and preparation of information required for the EY Group audit (under US GAAP) and the various statutory audits (under FRS 102, including consolidated accounts) as well as dealing with any audit related queries
• Preparation of other monthly reports including other debtors, other income and expense, restricted cash, non base currency and income statement currency reconciliation, and company close checklists
• Preparation of certain deliverables associated with the statutory accounts, including iXBRL tagging, imputed interest calculations and reconciliations to Oracle
• Intragroup loan and interest reconciliations
• Quarterly AR and AP net down schedule
• Monthly FAS 109 information for the tax department
• Calculation of MI forecast and actual postings
• Assisting in year end budget
• Ad hoc tasks including set-up of new Oracle entities, assisting with US queries, tax related queries, completion of National Statistics forms, preparation of annual reporting calendar
• Involvement in divisional balance sheet reviews and monitoring of controls compliance
