Summary of Position
Our Tax department is looking for a Sr. Tax Accountant to join their team! This is an ideal position for a smart, motivated person who is passionate about delivering strategic value in a collaborative and supportive environment. Responsibilities
• Prepare and review Income/Franchise tax returns, estimates and extensions
• Prepare Book/Tax Differences (M adjustments) for Quarterly Provisions and Tax Returns
• Prepare NOL C/F Schedules and review Legal Entity filings for Assigned States and Entities
• Review and approve foreign and domestic withholding tax forms
• Process tax withholding remittances including 1042, NR4, CA 592
• Manage various business license renewals, Secretary of State (''SOS'') and LLC fee/tax filings
• Support Tax Provision process with tax interest calculations and unbilled fees accrual
• Manage Indirect tax filings including monthly/quarterly sales & use tax, business and occupation tax, commercial activity tax, and commercial rent tax
• Assist with Property Tax filings
• Process, research and resolve tax notices as needed
• Special projects like UK Short-Term Business Visitors reporting, foreign directorship fee calculation, and quarterly UK return
• Assist with international Board meeting and branch meeting preparation
• Support Planning team on various projects as needed
• Provide business units with tax assistance as needed
Qualifications & Skills
• BA in Accounting or equivalent
• Two or more years of tax experience; some public accounting preferred
• Knowledge of tax compliance (indirect tax compliance a plus)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to assess problems or unusual situations and create efficient solutions
• Media and Entertainment Industry experience a plus
• Familiarity with federal & state C-Corp, partnership & LLC returns, indirect tax-property taxes, sales tax, business license, (ASC 740 a plus) Microsoft Office, SAP/BW, other tax software
Nice to Haves
• Well-rounded knowledge of tax laws and return preparation
• Competent self-review skills
• Established habits of accuracy and promptness in providing a complete work product that is organized and audit ready
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills; PowerPoint and familiarity with running SAP/BW reports a plus
• Ability to be flexible in response to changing priorities and needs
• Agility to work collaboratively in a deadline-oriented environment
• Proficient at tax research
• Organization, project management, a sense of scope and good judgment
• The ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and tax savings
