KXAN (NBC) in Austin, TX (market #39) is looking for an experienced newscast producer seeking to be part of a top-rated, highly collaborative newsroom, in one of the fastest-growing and most desired cities. Be part of a team that values your ideas and encourages creative, compelling storytelling.

JOB SUMMARY: Every day will not be the same with this position. Some days, the producer is responsible for selecting, writing, editing and organizing content for daily newscasts. Other days, the producer will serve as a researcher, creating content to assist in executing KXAN's in-depth, investigative brand. Other days the producer can focus on original reporting for our digital audience. On occasion, the producer could be called on to field produce or assist the investigative team.

Candidates are required to have strong editorial judgement, research experience, effective communication skills, compelling and accurate writing, project management and technical skills. Must create and oversee production elements, such as video, graphics, live shots and studio equipment used in newscasts.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or equivalent required. Two years' experience as newscast producer preferred. Applicants must provide examples of innovative and compelling newscasts with an emphasis on hard news, breaking news and depth of coverage.
