KXAN (NBC) in Austin (market 38) is searching for an experienced leader to be a morning executive producer, managing a top-rated team, part of a successful, highly collaborative newsroom, in one of the country's fastest-growing and most desired cities. Delivering the best morning news product on KXAN, sister station KNVA and KXAN.com is a high priority, with support and resources to cover stories that develop during those early hours, including multiple crews and a team of experienced producers.

Candidates must provide examples of collaborative leadership, strong editorial decision-making, proactively improving newscasts and executing strategies to grow ratings. This is an early morning weekday schedule. A journalism degree and five years' experience in TV news producing, including managing experience, is required. Morning news experience preferred.

The Executive Producer supervises news content across all media platforms.
• Execute strategies that engage and grow audiences across all platforms
• Responsible for executing content systems that determine what stories are selected or assigned for newscasts and digital platforms
• Effectively contribute to the editorial process and give urgent direction in breaking news situations
• Assist in hiring, scheduling and evaluating news staff

Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications or the equivalent
• At least 5 years' experience in television or radio broadcast/production
• Must be able to effectively lead collaboration with news, production and engineering staff
• Detail oriented
• Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
• Strong news judgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of audience needs and expectations
• Utilize broadcast and digital platform software and technology
