Job Summary/Description:

Anchor/Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our award-winning news team. The successful candidate will anchor the 4p News Monday-Friday as well as MMJ daily, reporting on community-driven stories that resonate with our statewide viewers. The Anchor/MMJ will also fill-in anchor on other newscasts and/or produce newscasts, as needed.

Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Anchor daily newscasts and LIVE breaking news; as well as fill-in for other anchors, as needed
- Use editorial judgment to determine content of local newscasts
- Use social media to engage with community and help generate contacts and story ideas
- Post daily to all digital platforms and social media including attaching images and video
- Interview subjects and research facts for credibility
- Produce newscasts as assigned
- Follow clothing and appearance guidelines
- Collaborate with news managers, producers and reporters for content and newscast development
- Generate news stories and daily story pitches
- Report and edit stories for broadcast daily
- Participate in community events and make public appearances on behalf of the station, as assigned
- Must be able to handle on-air responsibilities
- Must be a strong writer with solid news judgment

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Educational background in electronic mass media/journalism
- Understanding of principal journalistic ethics
- Experience shooting and editing (Grass Valley Edius experience a plus)
- Ability to write for broadcast news and digital platforms following AP Stylebook
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Ability to carry and utilize broadcast camera equipment and broadband equipment in the field
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to contribute to an on-camera and off-camera team environment
- Effective use of social media talent pages
- Flexibility with respect to scheduling and/or assigned work shifts
