KTLA has an immediate opening for a Senior Sports Producer to work with news managers, sports producers and talent to coordinate both daily and future coverage plans. The Senior Sports Producer will also produce and edit sports segments in newscasts and produce weekend sports shows.
Responsibilities
Coordinate sports coverage with sports producers, photographers and talent, news managers and assignment desk
Schedule staff and per diem producers
Ensure crews are credentialed for games and events, and coordinate travel
Write, produce and edit sportscasts for broadcast
Write articles and submit media for ktla.com and social media
Build and maintain sources with LA-area professional and college teams
Work collaboratively with everyone in the sports department and newsroom
Liaise with Sales Department on sponsorships
Adhere to KTLA's safety-first culture
Requirements
At least six years' experience in a large-market newsroom
Write and edit vosots and packages
Adobe Premiere editing experience preferred
Knowledge of newsgathering/First Amendment law and media ethics
Ability to work nights and weekends
Valid California Driver's License
