Job Description
KTAB is looking for an innovative Promotions Manager to lead our award-winning promotions team. The ideal candidate will be able to juggle multiple projects at the same time and be the driving force behind all marketing efforts for the station group, including on air promotion, social media marketing, digital initiatives, outdoor and radio advertising and station events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides leadership for the promotions team.
Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees.
Manages and leads the department to create new and profitable events.
Plans & directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop & control promotions programs.
Manages recruitment and development of talented promotions team members.
Prepares budgets and approves budget expenditures.
Develops and executes promotions strategies to enhance station competitiveness.
Resolves customer complaints regarding promotions.
Plans, executes and tracks revenue-generating marketing, promotional events and contests that take place on-air, online
and on-site.
Creates and reviews operational records and reports to assess the efficacy of promotions.
Creates client promotions and promotional proposals with members of the Programming and Sales teams.
Maintain network and syndicated promotion for all stations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination
of education and work-related experience.
Minimum five years' experience in media promotions.
Prior management experience working with a TV Station's newsroom and sales dept invaluable.
Experience guiding, directing and motivating subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring
performance.
Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
Ability to identify the developmental needs of others and to coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
Fluency in English. Bilingual a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands & Work Environment: The Promotions Manager must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work in close proximity to others, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. The Promotions Manager position requires an ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays, as necessary.
