Job Summary/Description:

KMVT News is looking for a highly creative and motivated News Producer for our Newscast. We must have a person with great news judgment, and is confident on decision making on topics like, coverage, content, show stacking and branding. Also, needs to be able to write compelling news copy, as well as meet deadlines. That also includes helping manage other employees meet deadlines for individual shows.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, structure, write and edit newscasts, or other news programming or material, and multi-media properties.
- Produce and edit editorial content directly to website.
- Work with our reporters and anchors to conceptualize, coordinate and approve story packages to conform to station policies, practices, and procedures.
- Work with assignment editors and newsroom managers to assign stories and monitor story coverage.
- Perform other duties as needed and directed by News Management

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
- One year experience in broadcast news within any department
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to perform office duties including skilled knowledge of computers and graphics
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
