Job Summary/Description:

This is a hybrid position. It is part broadcast producer and part digital producer. The successful candidate will producer the Midday newscast and spend the afternoon working with our large team of Digital Content Producers on a variety of apps, websites and social media outlets.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Writing for broadcast
- Editing for broadcast
- Broadcast producing
- Working in the broadcast booth
- Making simple graphics
- Working with reporters and MMJs
- Gathering news by phone and via official social media outlets
- Writing for digital products
- Starting web streams
- Strategic social media posts
- This position will generally work as a Content Producer Monday-Friday, dayside

Qualifications/Requirements:
• College degree in Journalism, Digital Journalism or similar. Two years prior experience in a commercial television news environment or digital news outlet is preferred. Assignment Editor and/or producing experience is a plus. This is generally not an entry level position. Advanced computer skills, familiarity with html and common tools used in social media management. Must have strong writing, organizational skills and excellent communication skills. Must be able to work under deadline pressures.
Other qualifications -
- Excellent news judgment; strong writing and editing skills
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Experience planning editorial and social content
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to manage multiple news stories and work under deadline in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Photoshop is a plus
- Knowledge of copyright laws and media ethics
