Job Summary/Description:
KGMB (CBS), KHNL (NBC) and K5 is seeking an Anchor/Reporter. Hawaii News Now is the state's dominant multimedia news organization. This person must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. The successful candidate must have reporting and anchoring experience and demonstrate strong on-air skills. This includes a ''digital first'' mindset with a leading presence on Facebook, Twitter, hawaiinewsnow.com as well as Instagram.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The successful candidate will anchor at least two newscasts a week.
- We are looking for candidates with experience as an anchor and strong reporting skils.
- Candidates must be a great writer, communicator and should have natural leadership skills.
- Candidates must be able to sift through complicated issues and provide clarity to viewers and digital news consumers.
- Newscasts are fast paced, ''Happening Now'' newscasts, filled with LIVE reports and breaking news from anywhere.
- Adjusting to situations is key and thinking uniquely to breaking events will continue to move this newscast forward.
- Multi-tasking is key as you will be juggling many things at once. The successful candidate will be required to post stories to the station web site and all social media platforms.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience with ENPS and Edius editing is a plus.
- Strong on-air skills on the anchor desk and in the field.
- College degree in journalism or related experience is required.
- Must be able to work extra hours, holidays, etc.
- Must have a valid driver license.
