Job Summary/Description:

Hawaii News Now is seeking a dynamic Executive Assistant who will enhance the successful operation of our stations. Your primary role will be to extend the positive impact of our General Manager with multiple daily responsibilities at the offices of Hawaii News Now and alongside our GM in the community.

The successful candidate for this position is warm by nature, organized, responsive, solution oriented with strong communication skills. Previous experience is preferred.

We're looking for a highly motivated and results oriented individual to be our Executive Assistant to the General Manager ensuring effectiveness and productivity by completing a wide variety of work on the GM's behalf.

Duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
• The 3 main areas this individual will support include responsiveness, thoughtful communication, and internal and external community correspondence; running point person on professional projects for the GM; and planning executive team and company meetings, events (on-site/off-site)
• Planning events, and all the details thereof so that they are low stress and the participants focus on the outcomes vs. logistics
• Make it easy for the GM to be thoughtful and extend her aloha
• Writing hand written notes and arranging thoughtful gifts
• Listening and understanding GM's priorities
• Ask good questions on the ''why'' and the ''what'', and be able to self manage the ''how''
• Anticipating shifts in priorities and communicate well with the GM, principally via in person meetings, phone, text and email
• Do research on topics and make quality recommendations to GM
• Manage and maintain some community relationships and special projects for the GM
• Prepare for the week ahead, the month ahead
• Manage multiple projects with both attention to detail and strong planning skills

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Attention to detail, strong project management, and excellent communication skills and tact are important in their effectiveness, exhibits thoughtful written and verbal communication
• Organized and prepared
• Own outcomes completely with minimal need for step by step instruction
• Has a high level of personal accountability and desire for excellence
• Uses technology well, including presentation and task management technology
• Listening, and being able to turn that into priorities and plans
• Being industrious
• Able to figure out how to execute something you haven't done before, and carry it off
• Maintaining absolute confidentiality and excellent judgment to handle sensitive matters
• Is thoughtful with people, helping enhance relationships (gifts, cards, thoughtful notes, etc.)
• Experience leading events and projects of different types, lengths, and sizes
