Newscast Production Supervisor

Job Description

KGAN is looking for an Newscast Production Supervisor to head up our news production team. Candidate must have experience in television studio operations or live show production. This position will work with both news and engineering. A creative mind and ability to multi-task is a must! Managerial experience and a good technical understanding of video production equipment are a big plus!

Responsibilities:
• Distributes paperwork as needed
• Supervises studio operations which include overseeing, scheduling, operational issues and set construction
• Supervision of this area also includes overseeing of scheduling on all editing and field acquisition equipment
• Purchases items such as studio supplies
• Coordinates with Chief Engineer for scheduling preventative and routine maintenance
• Collaborates with News Director and Chief Engineer

Requirements and Qualifications:
• 4+ years of television production experience
• 2+ years of managerial experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Television Production or related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed
• Must possess strong organizational skills and be detail oriented
• Ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment without direct supervision is essential
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is needed
• Must have technical knowledge of non-linear editing (AVID is a plus!), iNews and newscast directing at a manual station
