Job Summary/Description:

KFVS - Heartland News is searching for a weekend evening News Anchor/MMJ. The right person is a newsroom leader that will provide our viewers with a local newscast that exceeds expectations. The weekend anchor will also help anchor weekday newscasts when needed. The Anchor/Reporter presents the news to viewers of KFVS12. The position researches, develops, and covers news reports in the field which are informative, interesting, and compelling while remaining consistent with the Station's brand and editorial philosophy.

The anchor delivers the news and introduces content from local news reporters, sports, and weather, as well as external sources in accordance with the program outline. Anchors provide unscripted breaking news coverage and special event coverage to the community at large. The Reporter/MMJ duties include a daily news expectation. They cover news in the field, collaborates with producers and management in the development of broadcast content such as newscasts, promotions, and teases. Posts stories to KFVS digital programs.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors in Journalism or Communications
- 2+ years in a Reporter or Anchor role at a TV station
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment requiring strict deadlines and a focus on team orientation
- Skilled communicator, capable of speaking to a diverse audience and conveying messages effectively. Strong written communications. Creative, with the ability to provide original concepts, ideas & solutions. Strong listening skills for interviews
- Must pass driving background check
