THE ROLE

Insomniac Events is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Staff Accountant to join the Accounting team. We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support the accounting functions of Insomniac's financial management and reporting department. This is not a remote position.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform general accounting responsibilities which may include festival, clubs or other event operations.
• Analyze and report on various accounts which could include fixed costs, including marketing, consulting, repairs & maintenance and travel & entertainment on a monthly basis
• Prepare monthly balance sheets and reconciliations.
• Track and manage tax payments for various states
• Maintain fixed assets by processing and tracking asset additions and deletions, ensuring capitalization policies are followed, CIP completions are recorded timely and depreciation is recorded accurately
• Support timely monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process, including journal entries, reporting package, analysis and assist with audits.
• Follow processes to ensure proper internal controls and policy and procedures are maintained
• Works evenings, weekends, and works company events (domestic/international travel expected)
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
• 2+ years of experience required, entertainment industry preferred
• Strong Excel skills and knowledge of accounting principles
• Possess excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
• Value team-work and collaboration
• Possess superb verbal, written, and interpersonal skills and have outstanding persuasion and presentation skills; be an articulate communicator and good listener
• Possess a style that facilitates the sharing of knowledge and the building of teams
• Demonstrate the highest level of personal ethics and professional integrity

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
• May work in drastic temperature climates
• Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
