Senior Product Manager - Video Qoe Insights

Team introduction

Quality of the streaming experience is at the heart of all products powered by the Disney Streaming platform. Optimizing quality for every viewer and every device on (almost) every continent requires an expert ability to define analysis, instrumentation, and tooling requirements, develop insights around QoE impact, and work across a variety of technical, operational, and product teams to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities. You will work closely with counterparts in data, engineering, operations, product management, and design teams as well as with executive teams, to ensure streaming performance and quality remains industry-leading.

What you'll do
• Own and drive the product vision and strategy on key elements of playback, based on customer needs, data insights and technical capabilities
• Lead ideation, technical development, and release of innovative products which span Disney+, Hulu, Star+ and ESPN+, globally
• Establish and track playback QoE KPIs and gather key data insights to inform QoE optimization
• Communicate a clear set of business priorities and customer imperatives and actively work with the extended team to drive key trade-off decisions

What to bring
• A minimum of 5 years experience in product management and 5 years experience in a strategic or technical role in a digital media/streaming business
• Expert knowledge of video streaming, quality of experience and the software lifecycle
• Demonstrated passion for analytics and presenting complex ideas in easy to digest visualisations
• A proven track record of designing and delivering product features to drive better playback experience
• Flair for turning data insights into compelling product requirements
• Self starter with the ability to hunt business value
• Able to set out clear strategy while keeping close to the detail
• History of establishing and maintaining successful relationships across functions, hierarchies and timezones
• Strong influencing skills & ability to prioritise against disparate stakeholders

Nice to have
• Technical degree in science, engineering or mathematics, higher degree preferred
• Experience of Video Quality of Experience monitoring applications
• Strong data analysis experience: statistical modelling, machine learning and hypothesis testing preferred
