Your Impact:
The Hearst Visual Group is looking for a Visual Director to join the team and work on the print and digital versions of Delish. Candidate must have extensive experience with food shoots and must be an organized self-starter with a strong ability to multi-task in a face paced environment. The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience working in the visual/photo department of a major consumer magazine, website or similar outlet.
Responsibilities:
• Commission photographers and produce shoots for print and digital.
• Lead all aspects of photo production.
• Attend photo shoots and art direct.
• Collaborate with the art and food departments to conceptualize creative for shoot concepts.
• Create mood boards.
• Research new talent and current trends in photography.
• Source props for photo shoots.
• Research photos.
• Manage budgets, invoices, credits, department expenses, estimates, advances, contracts, call sheets and insurance.
• Help with image processing and asset management which includes applying metadata to files, archiving images and creating PDFs
Qualifications:
• At least five years of experience working in a visual/photo department of a magazine or similar outlet.
• Must have a passion for food photography.
• This candidate must exhibit professionalism and have a proven ability to work effectively with others.
• Experience producing and on-set art directing of food photo shoots.
• Must have the ability to manage and maintain shoot and issue budgets.
• Must have good relationships with photographers and industry artists.
• Must be ambitious, proactive, detail oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
