Job Description
Overview & Responsibilities

The Social Media Coordinator will help schedule and create content for Very Local's social media platforms. They will also help develop language and work with other Hearst teams and properties in collaborative social media content and posts. They will oversee engagement on all of the brand's social properties and help develop best practices on each network.
• Assist in the social media calendar maintenance and create engaging content to drive audience development
• Day-to-day account management including maintaining logins, account updates (logos, bios, links)
• Launch new social media accounts as needed (i.e. TikTok)
• Execute against social content calendar by writing all copy, scheduling & publishing posts, and verifying content launches across social media platforms
• Assist with video clipping and other turnkey asset creation as needed
• Facilitate social media community management (reviewing inbox, responding to posts, etc.)
• Create social teasers, input music, graphics and effects to existing videos
• Produce and edit social first videos for all types of social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook & Twitter
• Upload content to YouTube and help measure performance
• Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy
• Help track best practices and trends on networks
• Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in style and quality, and optimized for search and user experience for all content channels

Social Media Coordinator Qualifications / Skills:
• Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and management tools
• Proficiency with video and photo editing tools and digital media formats
• Excellent social listening skills
• Strong copywriting and editing skills
• Ability to understand historical, current and future trends in the digital media space
• Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field
• At least one year of experience managing B2C social media marketing or content development
• Direct experience using social media management tools (Hootsuite, AgoraPulse, SproutSocial)
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent digital media editing tools (Photoshop, Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro, AVID)

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $50,000 and $60,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
