Your impact:

As Senior Video Producer, you will oversee the rapidly expanding video operations dedicated to biographical content (primarily for Biography.com). Working with our data, editorial, social, and video teams, you will plan, originate, create, update and publish video across all channels that support the content (from site to TikTok), relying on your own output as well as that of other video producers on our team. Under the supervision of our Director of Video, you will also establish and tune the publishing schedule and cadences to meet the team's metrics and goals. The videos you produce for Biography.com, primarily using existing assets, will be compelling, concise and factually impeccable visual hits that capture the cultural and historical zeitgeist of the moment, and that convey the excitement of being in the know about the most important people in current culture and in our current culture's historical view. The ideal candidate can within minutes find the heart of the day's news and relate that to our existing biographical content, and tune and adapt videos for distribution across all our platforms and channels.

Candidates should possess:
• At least five years of experience in all phases of digital video production, with a minimum of four years in a management capacity
• More knowledge about video than anyone at the company, but will see his or her position as a perch from which to help the brands make the videos they want to make and which the market demands
• The ability to collaborate across teams and up and down the masthead, building key internal relationships to facilitate teamwork across functions and brands
• A history of successfully partnering with ad sales and clients in the ideation and execution of revenue-generating video content
• An uncanny ability to be equally adept at paying attention to detail and driving big-picture strategy
• Effectively setting and managing teams against clearly defined traffic and revenue goals amidst ever-changing priorities

What you'll do:
• Pitch, develop, create, and oversee the creation of groundbreaking, innovative, original biographical video content
• Manage multiple video projects from pre-production to publish
• Continually optimize video production operations, maximizing efficiencies across brands and minimizing expenditures
• Explore and develop partnerships with content and social platforms to facilitate and diversify the types of videos produced as well as the methods of producing them
• Tell stories viewers feel personally connected to
• Develop a deep understanding of our follower's content consumption habits
• Regularly develop professional tool chest by improving one's skills with After Effects, Photoshop, and various studio lighting techniques

Who you are:
• Relish working collaboratively with our experts and colleagues in data, visual, video, affiliate, and audience attraction teams
• Responsive to fast-changing metrics and goals
• Obsessed with notable personalities, celebrities, historical figures, cultural icons - and explaining the importance of those people in clear, compelling detailed ways
• College degree or appropriate field experience
• A minimum of 5 years' experience producing soup- to-nuts digital video content
• Hands-on advanced production experience, including shooting and lighting, from both the studio and the field, are a must
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and other Creative Suite products
• Creative thinker and innovator with an acute eye for engaging visual storytelling
• Proven ability to work with other video producers for a common goal
• Obsessive knowledge of the digital video landscape and a keen understanding of the competition
• Experience managing a slate of multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be able to manage feedback from multiple parties and deal with curve balls
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
• Must be able to work flexible hours as needed

The base salary for this role is between $70,000 and $80,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
