Your Impact:

Hearst is seeking a Senior Director of Strategy who will work within our Strategy and Corporate Development team at Hearst Magazine Media (HMM). T his role is part of our internal strategy function which sets the direction for the organization's long-term growth. Our team focuses on driving and delivering growth by analyzing business and market trends, prioritizing investments, and leading top strategic initiatives in close partnership with executives and senior leaders across the organization (consumer, editorial, advertising sales & solutions, digital product, engineering, and data operations) . We develop data-driven insights to solve complex business challenges and create meaningful impact, and partner with business leaders to identify and drive operational efficiencies to enable continued growth.

The role will report directly to the Chief Strategy Officer and CFO for Hearst Magazine Media, and will provide a unique vantage point into and deep involvement with HMM's businesses and strategy.

Qualifications:

Who You Are:
• Bachelor's degree is required. MBA a plus

• Minimum of 7-10 years work experience across corporate development, strategy, M&A, business development or operational roles within a media company. Solid foundation in strategy required.

• Strong project management capabilities, with ability to thrive in a project-based, collaborative team environment

• Deep understanding of the media landscape, with the ability to identify and manage partnership options in existing and emerging technologies and media to drive growth

• Excellent quantitative and analytical capability based (ability to build complex excel models to understand different scenarios)

• Intellectually curious and excellent critical and analytical thinking

• Ability to synthesize and communicate ideas effectively – verbally, in prose, and in powerpoint - through structured and clear recommendations

The base salary for this role is between $184,000 and $221,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
