Your Impact:
Hearst Magazines Digital Media is looking for a Senior Business Analyst. The Senior Business Analyst supports the development of ad our ad product portfolio which includes data, display, custom content, social and video products.
Working across cross-functional teams including Ad Sales, Data Studio, Marketing, Pricing, Ad Platforms, Media Strategy, and Activation, the Senior Analyst leads the Ad Product Marketing team's measurement and reporting strategy develops essential insights that inform data-driven decision-making for new and existing ad products.
The Senior Analyst is the primary point of contact for all analytic work, data, and insights relating to our ad product set, and must be able to work effectively and communicate clearly across cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization. What You'll Do:
• Product Measurement
• Own reporting strategy for new and existing products product proactively proposing refinements, and communicating recommendation effectively
• Define and iterate on assessment criteria, measurement strategy, and KPI's for products performance, creating benchmarks, case studies, and whitepapers
• Develop data-driven insights and processes that are both strategic and operational and translate them into recommended actions appropriate for each area of the business
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform product measurement strategy
• Systems Alignment and Accuracy In Reporting
• Own product set representation in core ad systems, ensuring accuracy and systems capability to measure against reporting goals, addressing errors if needed
• Proactively propose updates to our ad systems to improve process, create efficiencies, and allow for more comprehensive reporting and information gathering
• Evaluate new vendors and existing systems to recommend enhancements to reporting
• Communications Effectiveness
• Analyze APM team communication and its effectiveness, identifying areas for organizational efficiency, knowledge gaps, or for additional resource/ trainings
• Own agenda and follow ups from monthly sales and marketing leadership meeting ensure feedback is acted upon and resolved with Ad Product Marketing Team
Who You Are:
• 3-5+ years of experience in an analytical function, such as research, data analysis or data visualization, preferably in the Media, Advertising, Ad Tech or Martech space
• Enthusiasm and appreciation for using data and analytics to solve business problems
• Expert excel skills, and are comfortable with large data sets
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical work or quantitative work to a non-technical/quantitative audience at variety of organizational levels
• Track record of collaboration with cross-functional teams in large organization
• Ability to work independently on, and project manage, insights, data, and research-driven projects of a variety of sizes and organizational complexity
