Job Description
This role is for you if you have a solid understanding of digital video production, hands-on experience editing digital content and are excited by finding solutions to complex problems. The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter, adaptable, who excels in a deadline-driven environment, and is highly motivated to problem solve and be a key team player for our internal production operations team. Knowledge of AirTable, our content management system is key, as you will be the gatekeeper/admin of the CMS for the department. You'll be based in our Midtown NYC office (observing a hybrid model) and report to the Sr Director of Post Production & Operations.

What You Will Do:
• Help standardize editorial and business project management within Hearst Magazines and implement upgraded processes as strategies evolve.
• Build-out and maintain post-production process manuals and other internal documents and maintain proper tracking and archiving of video assets across internal teams, supporting the technical operations/asset management cycles.
• Create edit schedules and track progress closely, ensuring projects stay on track in accordance with the schedule without delays for projects assigned to the Central video team.
• Work closely with the media management team, maintaining workflows to increase efficiency with internal project sharing and submission of assets within Hearst Magazines brands to ensure proper archiving in lieu to fulfill future distribution deals.
• Support the post-production operations throughout Hearst Magazines and look for ways to increase productivity and lower costs.
• Train and mentor Jr and Assistant editors on proper edit practices, basic color correction and sound mixing practices.
• Manage GFX designers' workload and requests supporting various Hearst Magazines brands ensuring tasks are executed and delivered per brief's guidelines, on time and on budget.
• Forms close working relationships across teams in order to achieve consensus around processes and implement them as smoothly as possible.
• Maintenance of Distro platforms usage and deliverables such as cue sheets and video logs.
• Provide ad-hoc support for other content-related initiatives and perform other duties as assigned - this team is incredibly cross-functional!

Who You are:
• At least 3-5 year's experience in a post-production operations-focused role, preferably in digital media or in-house video production.
• Experience using Airtable and demonstrated success in utilizing tables, views, and automation, to help with project management and maintain the base up to date.
• Experience using Adobe Suite, (Premiere/Media Encoder, After effects, InDesign, Photoshop), Google Docs, Microsoft Office.
• An understanding and interest in the backend of a CMS, Parcel, and/or other media management platforms.
• Experience using review platforms such as Frame.io and Distro systems, i.e. Signiant, Aspera, etc.
• A strong understanding of the pre and post-production workflows for video and social teams with an eye on details, efficiency, creating and meeting deadlines, and high-quality end products.
• Self-starter who can work autonomously and as part of a team, with a point of view on ways to move any project forward.
• An obsession with organization and extreme attention to detail. Naturally enjoys project management and using new tools and software to help scale teams.
• Must work well under deadlines, and can over-communicate, both efficiently and in a timely manner.
