Job Description
The Hearst Enthusiast Group-comprised of Bicycling, Popular Mechanics, and Runner's World-is seeking a Marketing Manager who will support the department with the strategy, development, and activation of integrated marketing partnerships across key categories.
The Marketing Manager will lead key projects including signature events and programs, custom content executions, proposals for key accounts, and more. In addition, the Manager will provide support for the Integrated Marketing Director and will assist in managing and training entry-level employees.
Responsibilities:
• Develop creative, data-driven proposals for key accounts in response to digital and integrated RFPs, collaborating with Sales, Research, Branded Content Editors, Ad Product Teams and Media Planners
• Lead execution of custom advertiser programs, including custom print & social content
• Lead execution of small- and large-scale events, including consumer and client/trade events
• Lead key presentations for sales meetings and company-wide presentations
• Responsibility includes managing timelines, budgets, vendors, and talent
• Support the Integrated Marketing Director in researching, identifying, and activating new opportunities, strategic partnerships, and high-level strategy for the group
• Build sales materials for proactive packages
• Forge new strategic partnerships and ad product innovations across developing platforms
• Always think through new ways to engage with our audience and advertisers
• Develop category and client expertise, sharing knowledge and best practices across the greater Hearst Media Solutions marketing team
• Work with sales to strengthen key client relationships
• Create strategic client presentations for sales, focusing on data insights and core brand equities
• Attend and present at client meetings
• Facilitate transition of sold digital program to Activation Manager; stay connected throughout the execution phase to ensure quality of program success
Required Skills/Experience:
• Can synthesize client objectives to determine the right strategy
• Thrives in a dynamic and fast paced, high volume environment focused on both internal and external selling of ideas and concepts
• 3+ years minimum of marketing experience
• Leadership experience a plus
• Creative, resourceful, proactive, self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit
• Excellent writer who can communicate creative ideas in a clear, concise, vivid, and engaging manner
• Mastery in print, digital, video, and social media
• Proficient in Keynote, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, PowerPoint, comScore, MRI-Simmons, Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
• Knowledge of and appreciation for topics core to either brand a plus (running, cycling, home projects, DIY, science, etc.)
