Job Description

Producer. This person will be responsible for creating, writing and producing multiplatform content for KCRA. Successful candidates will have solid writing skills and operate with urgency. We are looking for a self-starter who is energetic, organized and works well with others. In-person attendance is required.

Job Responsibilities
• Contribute to news content creation, including selecting and writing stories, clipping and/or producing videos.
• Work to build on a newsroom culture of innovation and convergence.
• Utilize data to create interactive features for all platforms.
• Bring a consistent sense of urgency, immediacy and real-time strategies to digital news content and projects.
• Communicate effectively with assignment editors, producers, reporters, photographers, editors, production staff and news managers.
• Take an active role in daily editorial meetings, surfacing content that our audience is seeking.
• Pitch and produce high-impact original reporting with a sense of what works on social media.
• Utilize metrics to maximize the reach of our content and inform digital strategy.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred.
• Must have at least two years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of photo and video editing software like the Adobe Suite
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including mornings and weekends.
• Knowledge of newsroom computer systems ENPS, BitCentral and Oasis is a plus.
• Bilingual experience is a plus.
• Military DINFOS experience will be considered.
