Job Description

KETV is Omaha's News Leader, a community that's one of the hidden gems in the Midwest. Job responsibilities include planning, maintenance, and repair of IT and broadcast equipment. PC, network, and computer skills are preferred. The candidate should have a passion for Broadcast/IT Engineering and be comfortable with current and new technology trends.

Job Responsibilities:
• This position is responsible for daily News Engineering operations including ENG reception and monitoring the technical aspects of our news production.
• Maintains ENG microwave trucks, satellite antenna systems, signal distribution and routing systems, processing systems, monitoring devices, and automation systems.
• Maintains news-gathering equipment including ENG cameras, field gear, ENG/DSNG trucks, editing systems, and support devices.
• Conducts troubleshooting, installation, research, documentation, and cabling tasks.
• PC installation, support, and repair.
• Must have the ability to work effectively with other team members and independently.
• Must have the ability work with minimal supervision.
• Must be available to work any assigned hours, and perform other duties as assigned.
• In-person attendance is required.

Preferred Experience:
• Broadcast/IT Engineering or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of Information Technology systems, video servers, digital audio and video switching systems, personal computers, IT networking equipment, electronic test equipment, and television microwave equipment. Transmitter experience a plus.
• Server Virtualization experience a plus.
• Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces.
• Must have the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time

Licensing Requirements:
• A valid driver's license is required, and the successful applicant must be insurable.

Education:
• Associates degree in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or a minimum of two-years of an accredited technical electronics school equivalent preferred.
• SBE CPBE (or better) certification a plus.
• Military Broadcast Television Equipment Maintenance (BTVEM) course from Defense Information School (DINFOS) a plus.
• Military training and experience in electronics, avionics or related fields will be considered.
