The Job
We are seeking a Supervising Producer to manage a team of producers that deliver Playmaker's branded content experiences. The Supervising producer will be expected to elevate our stories and capabilities as well as supervise branded content projects with a strong focus on delivering world class creative for Bleacher Report and its partners.
The ideal candidate is creative, comfortable experimenting with new ideas and formats, and adept at collaborating. They will have a seasoned track record in creative direction and an appreciation for a vast range of subjects related to sports and culture. They're comfortable juggling multiple projects in various stages of development, production, post and are constantly monitoring the digital landscape for new trends in short-form and social video that might work for Bleacher Report and its partners.
This position requires the highest level of professionalism, with the ability to work closely with Bleacher Report staff through professional communication and etiquette. This individual will work closely with Playmaker's Leadership Team to ensure that our projects are resonating with Bleacher Report's audience and meeting client's goals and expectations.
The Daily
• Oversee creative for in-house branded content productions
• Provide creative guidance, feedback, and strong leadership to field producers, and ensure that the team is operating to the highest standard
• Closely collaborate with sales team and clients to ensure expectations and brand guidelines are understood and met
• Creatively plan, direct, and produce multiple branded field productions for publish on social platforms and potentially OTT and linear platforms
• Work with Playmaker Leadership to develop and iterate on internal production strategy
• Create all pre-production materials, including but not limited to, scripts, outlines, storyboards, and shot lists to use as a guideline for internal and client expectations
• Collaborate with Creative Strategy, Integrated Strategy, and Sales teams in managing process, expectations, and challenges as they arise
• Ensure that B/R's voice and aesthetic is maintained in all branded video efforts
• Manage Talent on and off camera
• Represent Playmaker in all communication and interactions while in the field
• Provide paper cuts for editors after shoots and oversee the editing process with the editor through publish
• Work in high pressure, fast-paced production environment with quick turnarounds
• Give and receive critical feedback in a team environment
• Adapt quickly to changes in production plan/schedules
• Ensure schedule and deadlines are being met within given budget; report changes, raise necessary flags, and convey delays so issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner
• Work with internal teams to strategize and brainstorm based on proactive ideas and RFPs
The Essentials
• Awareness of Bleacher Report and House of Highlight's voice + extensive knowledge of internet sports culture
• Must have In-depth knowledge of current trends content consumption
• Passionate about storytelling and innovative thinking specific to social media in a collaborative environment
• Sports fan with strong understanding of Sports culture
• 7+ years experience in video, with at least two years experience working on branded digital/social video content
• Concrete experience working on multiple social platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Tik Tok
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with an eye for talent (both ATL and BTL)
• Ability to concept, research, write, direct, and produce ideas for branded digital video
• A firm understanding of the entire production process, including development, budgeting, and post production.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at the same time while working under tight deadlines
• Ability to partner with sales and creative leadership across programming, strategy, creative development, and product
• Experience and comfortable with directing celebrity/athlete talent and leading a production crew
• Comfortable working with low to modest budgets
• Self-starter who is assertive, enthusiastic, and highly motivated
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent writing and visual storytelling skills
