The Job

As the Senior Manager, Content Analysis and Optimisation, for HBO Max International, you will support the team responsible for defining the content line-up for HBO Max on behalf of our consumers throughout International markets. You will leverage internal and external data (viewership, user behaviour metrics), research and competitive benchmarking to improve our ability to analyse and evaluate content deal opportunities.

Because content is core and critical to the HBO Max and WM businesses, this role requires working cross-functionally, and partnering closely with senior leadership and HBO Max teams (including Editorial, Product, Marketing, Data Insights and Planning, Data & AI), as well as WM International Programming and Local Original Production teams to efficiently and effectively inform key strategic content decisions for our business, with a focus on HBO Max consumers.

The Daily
• Work cross-functionally with HBO Max Marketing and Data Insights and Planning (DIP) teams as well as the WarnerMedia International Local Original Production (LOP) and Programming, teams to define KPIs and compiling thoughtful post-mortem analyses to determine areas for optimisation and improvement.
• Work on collecting and standardising data & reporting requirements across the content analytics function for all regions and coordinate with the Data & AI team on the development of newsletters, data dashboards and models.
• In partnership with WarnerMedia International Programming team, develop audience-first, data driven strategies that drive KPI's across user segments, increasing content discovery and engagement to improve and optimise customer retention and lifetime value.
• Support management with oversight of content offering and performance to ensure we have the right content for our current and future consumers.
• Leverage content performance and user behaviour insights to inform and guide investment decisions for content including HBO Max International Originals development and content acquisitions.
• Conduct analysis of key business drivers, trends, and performance indicators.
• Regularly present analyses and updates on regional competitor content acquisition, offering/mix, usage, awards etc. in an easy-to-understand format to senior business leaders.
• Work closely with Product, Editorial and Scheduling and Planning teams on heatmaps, scrollmaps, and benchmarks to understand how the editorial and curational presentation of content drives engagement.
• Develop both the short and long-term content strategy for HBO Max, using real-time data, hypothesis-testing, and ROI analyses. Assure alignment with WarnerMedia's overall content/business strategy by actively leading cross-functional communication and alignment with WarnerMedia partners.
• The job holder will operate through close cooperation with the following teams:
• HBO Max: EMEA Content Experience teams plus Global HBO Max Content teams
• WarnerMedia International: Programming, LOP, Publishing & Operations teams
• WarnerMedia Direct-to-Consumer: Data & AI

The Must Haves
• Experience working in both a top management consulting firm and/or in a media/entertainment/tech company in a strategy/business development/analytical role, including direct to consumer leadership.
• Analytical mindset that can create valuable insights from user behaviour data that can inform content decisions.
• Familiarity with content licensing models, originals production process, and the TV and film ecosystem at large.
• Passion for entertainment, love for content
• Exceptional writing and verbal communication/presentation skills with track record of presenting complex analyses to executives/senior management clearly and concisely.
• Experience and comfort around using quantitative data and metrics to communicate ideas and exceptional proficiency with MS Excel & PowerPoint, working knowledge of statistics and analysis packages.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics or another relevant field that demonstrates quantitative orientation.
