Sr. Analytics Engineer, Business Intelligence & Analytics

Job Description

As a Sr. Analytics Engineer for our Business Intelligence + Analytics group, you will play an integral role in building scalable analytic frameworks and leading analyses aimed at developing a deep understanding of subscriber behavior for the US HBO Max business. You will build scalable data solutions and synthesize large volumes of data into actionable visual insights meaningful to the business. Additionally you will partner closely with stakeholders to build analytical frameworks to solve business challenges.

The Daily
• Develop quantitative analysis, data visualizations and ad-hoc reports to guide subscriber acquisition and retention decisions in the US
• Partner with the key stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data solutions; define vision, lead execution and drive adoption
• Delve deep into data sets for insights around topics requested by senior leadership and build compelling presentations that communicate clear actionable insights
• Proactively identify opportunities to gather performance insights and pursue opportunities to build data products that enable self-service
• Collaborate cross-functionally with growth marketing, strategy, data science, data engineering and other teams

The Essentials
• 5+ years of relevant industry work experience in data analytics
• Advanced SQL skills for complex querying, analysis and performance optimization
• Proficient in developing dashboards and visualizations using Looker, Tableau, or equivalent enterprise data visualization software
• Proven track record of performing comprehensive analyses independently
• Strong communicator, for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Detail oriented and cares about the quality of the input data as well as how the processed data is ultimately interpreted and used
• High tolerance for ambiguity and fast-changing environment
• Excited to work in the entertainment industry and, in particular, at a premiere video streaming service
