Product Manager II - Insights & Scenario Planning, Ad-supported (HBO Max)

The Job

The Product Manager for Insights and Scenario Planning, Ad-supported, you will be responsible for defining product requirements related to HBO Max's ad effectiveness and advertising capacity. Your core areas of focus will be creating the best place for advertisers to meet consumers while creating ad capacity that does not compromise the consumer experience. You will be responsible for writing requirements related but not limited to Forecasting and Optimization for the Ad-supported business and planning teams. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize and execute against these requirements, building and evolving an actionable product roadmap. Analytical thinking and a strong aptitude to solve word problems with well supported insights is a must. Collaboration across fellow product managers, finance, engineering, research, and strategy will be critical as you impact the product experience.

The Daily
• Define and document requirements for inventory planning, recommendations, experimentation, and optimization.
• Connecting data sources to power platform insights and analytics.
• Understand and communicate consumer behavior data to inform inventory optimization strategies - ''What-if, then'' Analysis.
• Design and build models that will account for dynamic ad loads effect on overall ad capacity.
• Develop, support, and test hypothesis that result in greater user engagement and results for media buyers.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and make recommendations based on data to improve the product and user experience.
• Build and present slides that describe the features being created and how it drives the business forward.
• Work with Product Experience peers to deliver innovation, ensuring alignment of product requirements and integration into the unified roadmap.
• Communicate the ad experience roadmap at all levels, including specific functionality, to ensure support and understanding across internal teams of features and the target user experience.
• Cultivate strong relationships among working teams and have exposure to senior leadership.

The Essentials
• 2+ years of experience in managing digital product initiatives and or related business operations experience.
• Foundational understanding of core economic principles.
• Experience building models and interrupting insights.
• Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skill – ability to ask the right questions about data.
• Experience writing requirements for digital products and features and the ability to execute upon those requirements with development teams.
• Understanding of how to develop rapid prototypes, A/B testing, and iterative development practices.
• Experience in an agile development process (Scrum, Kanban).
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Must be self-motivated and accountable.
• Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities and the ability to react quickly, dynamically, and intelligently.
• Ability to understand and engage with technical teams on highly complex projects.
• Comfortable working in an environment that is ever-changing; must be able to create your own direction yet balance cross-functional teams' needs and priorities.
• Ability to use critical thinking, strategy, and a consumer-driven lens to address market opportunities with creative solutions and establish a strategic product roadmap.
• Have the drive to continually enhance knowledge of systems, products, and industry.
