What will I be doing?
For HBO Max you will be responsible for leading the team which will be developing our next generation infrastructure engineering tools. These tools will aid our development, infrastructure and operations team bridge our cloud infrastructure and on-prem installations. You are responsible for using visionary skills to explore innovation, architecture, strategic plan and to execute operational automation that align with the goals and vision of HBO Max as well as direction of the long term international operational strategy.

What does my day look like?
• Architect and execute on building the internal tooling required to manage a mix of on-prem ''private cloud'' infrastructure, co-existing with our cloud infrastructure at scale in production environments
• Work with existing operations and infrastructure teams (this teams customers) to understand their needs as we expand our cloud capacity to support new capabilities
• Automating the boring stuff to achieve excellence
• The role will focus on converting requirements into the architecture and design that ultimately constitute the blueprint for our solutions
• Providing deep digital technology expertise to support design and implementation work, including:
• application architecture design
• execution architecture design - infrastructure, network, DNS, cloud, CDN, monitoring, redundancy, failover
• development architecture design - build / deployment tools, automation
• Both lead and contribute to storyboarding and brainstorming exercises and run scoping and design sessions with internal stakeholders.
• Produce software technical documentation and oversee the quality of that produced by others in the team
• Validate/QA technical solutions before handing over to client, including production of test plans and guidance to other departments on test methodologies.
• Support colleagues in business development activities, including proposal writing, estimating and presentations.

• Expert Node.js, Javascript/TypeScript,
• Cloud (prefabably AWS)
• SQL & Document databases (Golang a plus)
• Senior level experience with Kubernetes
• Senior level experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Cloudformation
• Experience with CI/CD tools and modern deployment methodologies
• Experience with configuration management tools like Anisible, Puppet
• Able to bring a bare metal machine from no-OS to a happy member of a Kubernetes cluster serving traffic with automation ( know what this means: IPMI -> PXE Boot -> SSH -> Ansible -> kubectl )
• Knowledge in terms of Availability, Reliability, Scalability, Maintainability, and Security
• Experience in building tools (CLI, SDK) that other developers use and enjoy
