Job Description

The Director of Program Acquisitions (Brazil) will support the program acquisitions group for the Latin America portfolio of brands, including HBO, HBO MAX, TNT, Space, Warner Channel and Cartoon Network among others. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: negotiating, acquiring or licensing content (finished and original) intended for the Brazilian audience, tracking dynamic marketplace information and available product from creators/producers, distributors and competitors, and overseeing a wide variety of reports (including available Ancine funds) to provide the General Entertainment division with an arsenal of information, which allows them to secure the best product at the right prices.

Job Responsibilities:
• Initiate, manage and execute the program acquisitions process for Brazilian original and finished content
• Effectively manage designated distributor relationships; interface and engage in successful negotiations with distribution executives at television and theatrical studios
• Generate and/or supervise the creation of monthly/quarterly reports that provide key insights into towards the strategic and efficient use of available Ancine funds, as well as competitive acquisition practices on television series and feature films, including the analysis of trends in purchasing for linear and non-linear forms of media
• Generate revenue by actively creating deals to monetize WarnerMedia´s assets across multiple media platforms in the region
• Prepare reports and decks as needed, utilizing methodology and design for accuracy and impact, for both internal and external audiences
• Support the Head of Acquisition & Negotiation as well as the Chief Content Officer, providing support during deal negotiations
• Assist in/or oversee the resolution of contract discrepancies of licensed content
• Support departmental initiatives and undertake special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
• This role requires a confident self-starter who relishes the opportunity to drive and close deals to support the programming strategy for WarnerMedia´s vast portfolio of brands in Latin America.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to synthesize information and devise strategies. The right candidate will have a talent for driving results in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to handle many projects simultaneously -- highly organized and works well under time constraints meeting daily and weekly deadlines
• Individual should be flexible, dependable, and results-oriented
• Ability to communicate effectively (written & oral) with all levels of personnel
• Ability to be a strategic partner with internal and external clients
• Willingness to work long hours as needed.

Educational and Experience Requirements:
• A four-year degree is required. A degree in film, journalism, or communications is preferred.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of entertainment industry experience with at least two years spent acquiring/licensing content, and/or negotiating contracts as an executive or agent.
• Strong knowledge of film, television, and social media as it relates to entertainment content
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills
• A solid understanding of non-linear content distribution models
• Expert-level skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint are needed
