The Job
The Data Center Technician delivers and configures network infrastructure equipment, consumer-grade devices, services and solutions needed to support WarnerMedia data center systems and environments. They also perform day-to-day installation, configuration, service and maintenance of consumer-grade & network equipment and/or other telecommunications systems and circuits.
The Day-to-Day
• On-site support performing tasks such as hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, installation and configuration.
• Physically install and troubleshoot network equipment in network closets and data center network cabinets.
• Physically install and cable a wide variety of devices and equipment, much of which would not normally be found in a data center environment.
• Cable and connect devices and peripherals to power and network ports.
• Perform network closet clean-up, trouble response, and survey work as needed.
• Perform day-to-day installation, configuration, service and maintenance of a variety of network and consumer devices such as network switches, PDUs, servers, media devices (streaming, game consoles, set-top boxes).
• Propose and implement hardware and software upgrades that will improve the performance and reliability of the data center environment.

• Experience in using a laptop to set configurations on equipment such as routers, switches and other components of an IP Network.
• Proven ability to make software and hardware changes on a variety of devices such as PCs, switches, routers, servers, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of critical infrastructure components such as racks, labeling, switches and routers.
• Day-to-day installation, configuration, service and maintenance experience of a wide variety of consumer-grade, network and telecommunications systems and circuits.
• Ability to carry up to 30 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and work from heights.
• 4+ years' experience working in a data center or related telecom environment
• CCNA, Server+, Network+
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting many of the following technologies: Layer 2 and 3 routing; Network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and MPLS); Enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches; Access control lists.
• Associate degree or Certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
