The Team

The Business Operations team builds connective tissue for HBO Max, empowering our cross-functional partners with the tools, processes, and structure they need to do their best work. On the daily, we partner across all teams in the organization to define processes, drive efficiency and create visibility. We are versatile, flexible, and diplomatic, proactively identifying opportunities to support our cross-functional partners by improving BAU operations and tackling new strategic initiatives in an ever-evolving environment.

The Role
The Business Operations Manager (Publishing Ops) will support the day to day operations of the Domestic Publishing workstream, which is responsible for the content scheduling, uploading, and placement of assets on HBO Max. You will focus on bringing sound process development and project management to the HBO Max Publishing space. You will identify opportunity, adeptly navigate ambiguity, build strong cross-functional bridges between teams, and deliver repeatable, scalable processes that serve the needs of our cross functional partners and the business as a whole. You are diplomatic, tactical, and kind, someone who is detail-oriented but consistently keeps the bigger picture in mind. The Daily

Biz Ops' roles and scope will evolve as the business does - adaptability and a wholehearted willingness to pivot and take on whatever is needed is essential.
• Manage day-to-day operations of special workflows to provide connective tissue amongst cross functional teams
• Identify knowledge and process gaps within the cross-functional Publishing processes and work with stakeholders to identify solutions, both long-term and short-term
• Build, maintain, and optimize forms, reports, trackers and dashboards (Monday.com, Airtable, Excel/G-Suite) and help onboard and provide continued support to our stakeholders with new tools
• Support cross-functional partners and lead Publishing team members through new initiatives and workflows with clear, strategic planning and process design
• Maintain a thousand foot view of the end-to-end publishing workflows, offering an informed business perspective on questions and requests from cross-functional teams
• Facilitate the documentation, organization and creation of training materials for existing processes and make suggestions for enhancement and simplification as needed
• Steer the onboarding of new Publishing team members ensuring all relevant training and access is provided
• Triage build issues found by Publishing, enabling resolution by identifying direction and needed resources
• Develop, improve and report on metrics, streamlining the calculation and presentation of key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Create and present impactful business-case storytelling for executives and stakeholders.

The Essentials
• 3-5 years of experience in business operations, project management, content operations or similar
• Experience and confidence with asset management in the realm of streaming/VOD or similar, and tracking assets between disparate systems and ensuring delivery to platform
• Thrives in ambiguous, rapidly-evolving environments, constantly, proactively identifying
opportunities for improvement; start-up experience a plus.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including negotiation and coalition building with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of project management processes for governance and tracking; Familiarity with Agile/Lean methodologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of competitive streaming landscape including SVOD and OTT services and a deep knowledge of content management systems
• Thorough understanding of database, ticketing and project management tools such as Airtable, Monday.com, ServiceNow etc.
