REGIONAL NEWS PRODUCER (REMOTE/USA) - GRAY MEDIA GROUP

Job Summary/Description:

Gray Television has an immediate opening for a Regional News Producer (RNP). This is a unique opportunity to work remotely and serve as a writer, segment producer, and full newscast producer for any of our 113+ television markets. Gray's News Producers are assigned to a particular station. A Regional News Producer will work with all of Gray's stations to help meet immediate temporary needs. This is NOT an entry-level job. The RNP is a full-time position tailored to experienced producers. The successful candidate should be able to meet audience expectations from the least to the most populated Gray TV markets. Responsibilities would include (but not be limited to) the following:
• Work remotely and maintain technological connectivity
• Write and produce stories, teases, segments, and full newscasts
• Operate in ENPS, iNews
• Work with new people every day
• Take the initiative to meet customer (station) needs
• Maintain customer (station) relationships
• Solve minor technical problems quickly
• Available to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays during emergencies
• Able to travel to meet station leaders, attend strategy meetings
• Communicate and coordinate with Local News Live

Qualifications/Requirements:
• At least three years of local newsroom producing experience
• Strong ethics and news judgment
• Outstanding writing skills
• Expert time management and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, or equivalent training
• Must work from a specific time zone (i.e., PT or MT or CT or ET)
