REGIONAL NEWS EXEC PRODUCER (REMOTE/USA) - GRAY MEDIA GROUP

Job Summary/Description:

Gray Television has an immediate opening for a Regional News Executive Producer. This is a unique opportunity to work remotely and lead a remote team of regional news producers who will serve as writers, segment producers, and full newscast producers for any of our 113+ television markets. Gray's Executive News Producers are assigned to a particular station. The Regional News Executive Producer will work with all of Gray's stations to help meet immediate temporary needs. This is NOT an entry-level management job. The Regional News Executive Producer will be guiding an experienced team of producers who are expected to meet audience expectations from the least to the most populated Gray TV markets. Responsibilities would include (but not be limited to) the following:
• Work remotely and maintain technological connectivity
• Supervise, coach, develop, and communicate with an experienced team of regional news producers for success
• Assist with the hiring of employees
• Manage schedules and overtime
• Write and produce stories, teases, segments, and full newscasts (as needed)
• Operate in ENPS, iNews
• Work with new people every day
• Take the initiative to meet customer (station) needs
• Maintain customer (station) relationships
• Solve minor technical problems quickly
• Available to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays during emergencies
• Able to travel to meet station leaders, attend strategy meetings
• Communicate and coordinate with Local News Live

Qualifications/Requirements:
• At least three years of local newsroom leadership/management experience
• Strong business ethics and news judgment
• Outstanding writing skills
• Expert time management and organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, or equivalent training
