Job Summary/Description:

KSNB-TV, Local4, Hastings, Nebraska, is looking for storytellers willing to invest time an effort into the beginning of their careers. We need smart, capable professionals who want to learn about our Central Nebraska community and tell stories about the people who make it special. Local4 thrives because we have people with a passion for learning about our community and our audience and who authentically demonstrate that passion on the air, on-line and especially in person. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Produce and anchor news content
• Enterprise, shoot, edit, and report compelling stories
• Execute all aspects of storytelling, scheduling shoots and interviews, shooting video, writing scripts, editing, and going live as needed
• Be a multi-platform storyteller, with regular posts to social media and the station's website and news apps
• Meet tight daily deadlines
• Respond urgently and appropriately to breaking and developing news

The Local4 newsroom is a small group which thrives on teamwork and collaboration. The right candidate will be a proven leader and a positive influence in the newsroom. Once our people demonstrate their capabilities there may be opportunities to anchor our presentations on a fill-in basis.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• We're also looking for the ability to communicate live in a professional manner, for all of our media channels. The ability to type and operate newsroom computers and other news gathering equipment in an above average capacity, excellent people skills when dealing with coworkers and the public, a valid driver's license, and a satisfactory driving record are requirements. Position would require permanent residence in Hastings or Grand Island, Nebraska.
• If you're in the first or second stage of your career this is an opportunity to learn community journalism. You can also sharpen your writing, visuals, editing and social media skills. On-air experience at a professional news station, a college degree or equivalent job experience in a journalism related field, are desired. Familiarity with ENPS, Sony ENG, Avid, Edius, TVU, and ARC Publishing a plus
