Job Summary/Description:
KTTC Television in Rochester, MN is looking for a rock star producer to lead our weekend shows. The person hired for this position will also report as a MMJ three days during the week.
If you are an up and coming newsroom leader looking for a challenging opportunity, then this is the place for you to create, lead and organize content for multiple platforms utilizing strong editorial, journalistic, organizational and communication skills. We are looking for the best of the best!
This position requires solid reporting on all types of daily news stories with emphasis on accuracy and quality. The position also requires the ability to cover breaking news.
To be successful in this position you will be responsible for:
• Shooting, writing, editing and executing solid/creative live shots
• Managing your time efficiently and effectively as a solo journalist
• Contributing content daily to KTTC.com, professional social media pages and other digital platforms
• Work in various weather conditions (we get it all in Rochester!)
• Managing a newscast as producer, coordinate with production team and oversee the order of a newscast
• Working with newsroom colleagues as producer to decide on what stories to report
• Working closely with news anchors to produce and execute clear information and/or news stories to the viewer
Qualifications/Requirements:
A qualified candidate will -
* Have one (1) year of newsroom or equivalent experience
* Understand writing in AP style for broadcast and digital platforms
* A desire to grow and learn every day
