Job Summary/Description:

WVVA is looking to fill an important broadcast news producer position! This is a rare opportunity to join our team. The successful candidate must be able to produce creative, compelling, visually appealing newscasts every day. Candidate must be an excellent writer for all multi-platform content. We're looking for a hardworking journalist who can create an experience for our viewers, not simply write and organize news stories.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
• Responsible for oversight of live broadcast and up to the minute editorial decisions.
• Must be strong at managing breaking news and severe weather coverage.
• Must be able to think strategically from the producer chair daily, was well as motivate your team to execute your vision.
• Must have strong communication skills in both newsroom and master control.
• Experience with Avid and or ENPS and automated technology a plus.
• Strong skills working with digital media and willing to learn and post stories to multimedia platforms.
• Ability to be a team player and maintain a professional attitude.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• 1-2 years of newscast producing experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications field preferred.
• Digital editing experience helpful.
• Flexible work schedule required, must be willing to work a variety of shifts as well as holidays.
• Must have valid driver's license and pass motor vehicle records check.
