Job Summary/Description:
The digital anchor will oversee and execute a multi-hour daily digital newscast exclusive to OTT and streaming platforms. They'll act as an anchor for live events, interview local newsmakers, speak with KBTX reporters as they develop content over the course of the day and host regular Q&A sessions with viewers about the news and KBTX's reporting process. The ideal candidate is full of energy for this topic and will champion digital growth across KBTX's platforms. This position will turn regular enterprise reporting for broadcast and create regular first-run digital reporting, so quality candidates will have a clear understanding of enterprise reporting and be able to bring fresh ideas to our newsroom on a daily basis.
Your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
* Produce and anchor multi-hour daily digital newscast
* Gather and produce content as assigned
* Work with reporters to debrief breaking news, featured content
* Ability to produce an OTT daily plan
* Edit content on Edius, other platforms
* Contribute to all platforms, including consistent content on our digital platforms
* College degree in journalism or related field
Qualifications/Requirements:
The ideal candidate possesses a degree in broadcast journalism and one year of news experience, along with a deep interest in digital journalism.
