About the Position

We are looking for a Corporate Controller to help lead the accounting function for the group of companies including the Golden State Warriors and Chase Center. The Corporate Controller will be a key member of the leadership team and will have responsibility for the day-to-day accounting operation, the corporate consolidation, monthly reporting, technical accounting research, contract review, payroll, policy documentation, the insurance program, and all relevant support for audits and tax compliance. This is a highly visible role with opportunities to grow and make an immediate impact. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead, support, and develop the accounting team while driving efficiency & automation to keep up with the demands of the business
• Ownership of the general ledger, revenue, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, event settlement, accounts payable, short-term cash-flow projections, the control environment and consolidation
• Serve as an authorized banking representative to review payment requests and authorize bank payment transactions; act as system administrator for banking platform
• Help guide, establish, and monitor metrics related to accounting operations in an effort to drive efficiency
• Implement best practices and ensure compliance with US GAAP, policies, and procedures
• Monitor, review, and present all compliance requirements with lending institutions
• Manage external relationships with auditors, tax service providers, insurance brokers, banks, the NBA league office and others as assigned
• Monitoring and ensure compliance that all statutory returns and filings are completed and filed on a timely basis; own and direct multiple audits as required
• Be a business partner to provide frontline contract review and documentation as needed
• Participate and/or lead projects as assigned

Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum 10+ years of accounting experience; active CPA highly preferred
• Superior knowledge of US GAAP, the control environment, and operations of a group of companies (highly technical candidates, including revenue recognition, have an advantage)
• ERP experience (NetSuite) including the underlying process; experience with consolidations and intercompany transactions
• Experience electing and managing third party vendors for both projects and ongoing work
• Firm understanding of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting as it relates to a partnership structure
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization; comfortable interacting with senior management
• Proactive and confident in identifying problems and solutions; tenacity and attention to detail and process
• Ability to efficiently lead and prioritize multiple projects at once
