JOB DESCRIPTION

WNYW/WWOR is seeking a skilled Production Audio Technician to mix and deliver high quality audio

for multiple live and pre-taped Broadcast programming associated with a 24/7/365 television operation in a major market. The select candidate will be responsible to mix LIVE and taped news/entertainment format productions, work closely with Production control room and Studio crew to Prepare, test and verify proper operation of all audio channels, console, dialogue lip sync, intercoms, RF and hard lined microphones, RF and hard lined IFB's, for overall excellence and quality of audio for all aspects of on air and pre-taped audio Programming in broadcasting quality. Monitor quality and consistency of audio deliverables. Technical knowledge and experience working on SONY ELC automation system. Will perform other Duties as assigned, included but not limited to providing relief on SONY ELC automation, robo and floor.

Candidate must have at least 3 years' experience in a LIVE news production control room/broadcasting facility mixing Live News/Entertainment shows. Must have a thorough understanding and knowledge of broadcast TV audio production, in all aspects of a LIVE Broadcast. Knowledge of CALREC board a must. Knowledge of Sony ELC automation a must. Be comfortable working in a fast paced, LIVE production control room / environment, with proven excellence in mixing live news / entertainment broadcast programming. Must understand complex newsroom caliber audio and intercom workflows, be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form, work under pressure in addition to being able to work closely with all station staff in a team environment; Flexibility in scheduling evenings, early mornings , weekends , as well as work all shifts in a 24/7/365 breaking news environment. Must be able to work overtime, holidays and varied hours. Performs other duties as assigned. Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to lift 50 lbs.
