Fox Television Stations is one of the nation's largest owned-and-operated network broadcast groups, comprising 29 stations in 18 markets and covering over 37% of US television homes. This includes seven duopolies in the top 10 markets: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington, DC and Houston; as well as duopolies in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Orlando and Seattle.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 26 HOUSTON is seeking a reporter who is passionate about breaking news and breaking stories of interest to our community. This candidate must have excellent writing abilities, strong story-telling skills as well as be creative in their presentation. Candidate must also have the ability to report live from the field. If you are great live, we want to see your link. This candidate must want to own the big story and be able to develop sources. This position requires the ability to effectively work with the team in collaboration with producers, associate producers, production staff, photographers and managers. Must engage on social media in accordance with newsroom digital newsroom standards. Should be able to shoot and edit material for all platforms.

Minimum 2-5 years on-camera experience in a medium or major market preferred. Bachelor's degree required; journalism or a related field preferred. Must possess excellent on camera reporting, interviewing and writing skills. Must have strong on-camera live reporting ability in breaking news and other unscripted situations. Accuracy in reporting and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines is required. Ability to shoot and edit stories for air preferred. Strong computer skills and knowledge of I-News preferred. Ability to disseminate crowdsourced material while maintaining newsroom standards for fact-checking information for air and digital platforms. Candidate must be able to work flexible hours/shifts/shows; early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays may be required. Must have a valid credit card and driver's license.
