JOB DESCRIPTION
The Big Ten Network (BTN) is looking for a Supervisor of Studio Operations, to join the team in Chicago. As the Supervisor, you are responsible for maintaining the functionality and appearance of the production studio and control room. Your duties will include working with Studio Production, Programming, New Media, and Operations to create crewing and production schedules. You will also create and distribute the crewing schedule and supervise the crews during productions as well as oversee the Ticker content, execution, and communication with the technical hub in Tempe, AZ.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise the crew for Studio Operations
• Collaborate with Engineering to verify/ensure technical requirements of the control room automation, equipment, and studio are met
• Perform various production functions
• Create and maintain departmental and personnel schedules, SOPs, and payroll for BTN staff and freelancers
• Oversee and maintain technical aspects of the studio and control room, including maintaining the functioning and professional appearance of the studio set
• Oversee Ticker schedules, SOPs, content, and execution internally and with the Media Center in Tempe, AZ
• Backup for studio and control room (automation) positions
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 2+ years of experience in studio production
• 1+ years of experience in a control room environment producing, directing, studio integration, etc.
• Knowledge of production equipment
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to work flexible hours is necessary
• Capability to identify work priorities and requirements, completing projects on time
• Superior attention to detail
NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
• Bachelor's degree in Radio/TV
• Knowledge of sports and sports broadcasting
• Control Room automation experience
