JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX News is seeking a Vice President of Technology to oversee engineering and infrastructure for FOX News' suite of digital products. You will be responsible for driving the technological strategy of the entire FOX News digital portfolio including engineering, infrastructure, automation, and quality assurance. You will work closely with our FOX News team and various stakeholders across the company to ensure we are bringing the best possible digital experiences to our users. We are looking for someone who has a very strong history of building and iterating on large-scale consumer digital products, previous experience managing diverse engineering teams, and a solid understanding of digital infrastructure and scalability.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the technology teams in planning, architecting, and developing scalable and robust technology solutions across the Fox News & Fox Business websites and apps
• Own the technology roadmap with a focus on extending or enhancing our services and capabilities to meet future product and business needs
• Manage and mentor both back-end and front-end developers on development, design, and systems architecture
• Be hands-on in the development, deployment, and maintenance of our digital systems on an as-needed basis
• Collaborate with product, design, and project leaders on new digital initiatives throughout the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance
• Consult and collaborate with product, editorial, and operations teams to create the most effective content delivery systems, tools, and applications
• Spearhead our efforts to improve page and system performance and load times
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and the competitive landscape related to design, content, community, user experiences, SEO, and storytelling capabilities
• Communicate about technical capabilities with management, internal clients, and third parties
• Develop and maintain technical documentation on applications, processes, and workflow
• Take a leadership role in maximizing development workflow with the goal of enabling team productivity as well as delivery of product roadmap on time and on budget
• Work on special projects and other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 8+ years of professional experience in software development, preferably as a technical director, architect, development manager, or higher
• Experience managing and architecting modern web architectures with multiple systems including but not limited to content management, data warehousing, personalization, and search
• Proficiency in JavaScript, PHP, CSS, AWS, and Linux
• Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and to navigate the demands of associates with competing needs
• Ability to work extended hours as needed, including some evenings and weekends, and to be on-call for emergencies

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
