JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News is seeking a Freelance Ticker Writer to join our New York Bureau. As a Freelance Ticker Writer, you will be responsible for identifying news stories for our ticker scroll on Fox News Channel. You are a detail-oriented news junkie with an excellent grasp of current events. Your excellent writing, grammar, and spelling skills allow you to quickly craft top-notch headlines and stories.

You will be offered the following shift: 3 to 11 PM, Wednesday through Sunday

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify current breaking news stories and publish daily on the scrolling news ticker
• Break down a story and highlight key information to write catchy headlines for assigned shift
• Share, review, edit and update all ticker copy

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 1+ year of experience or internship experience working in a live broadcast environment
• Basic knowledge of newsroom functions
• Solid knowledge of current events
• Strong writing skills with demonstrated self-editing skills
• Ability to work all shifts and handle the pressure of a 24-hour cable news environment
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent writing, grammar, and spelling skills
• Strong organizational skills and a creative self-starter

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
