JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer in our Broadcast & Media Technology department to join our Fox News family. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing top-layer support and maintenance to our large infrastructure of media and broadcast systems in a 24/7 live news environment. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams and assist in planning our transition to the next generation of media systems, storage, IP technologies, and cloud architectures. The Senior Systems Engineer will be part of a 10+ member team supporting DC, NY, and AWS cloud-based resources.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage large infrastructure of media asset management system and on-air broadcast systems
• Independently manage and implement projects while working with the other broadcast system engineers and IT teams
• Be part of a team that will assist in planning our transition to the next generation of media systems, storage, and cloud architectures
• Develop and document procedures and workflow processes.
• Interface with vendors and manufacturers to research and address support issues, feature requests, create bug reports
• Implement and maintain standards and processes including rollout and support documentation for operational support
• Participate in on-call support rotation and provide remote support

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience
• Media Asset Management (MAM) administration or support experience
• Broadcast ingest & playout systems knowledge
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect knowledge
• Python programming and other shell scripting experience
• Windows Server (2016/2012) knowledge
• MS-SQL Database knowledge

This position requires some evening work and infrequent late-night work to complete planned maintenance. The job may require you to perform infrequent hardware maintenance including removing, lifting, and replacing equipment in server racks.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $56.73-75.96 per hour for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
