JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News Digital is looking for an experienced Senior Editor to join our team leading news coverage for FoxNews.com. You have previously led a large team of reporters in a major newsroom. You will be responsible for directing editorial coverage by assigning stories, editing, and approving pitches from reporters. Your team is responsible for covering original, exclusive and investigative reporting. You are fluent in AP style, have the ability to bring copy to life, and understand our dynamic audience. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have previous experience in news & political journalism.

You may be offered one of the following shifts or ranges in the schedules as follows: Sunday thru Thursday or Wednesday thru Sunday 6am to 2pm OR Sunday thru Thursday 2pm to 10pm

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work directly with Managing Editors & Deputy Managing Editors on newsgathering for your team of editors and reporters
• Assign and plan original, exclusive, investigative reporting for twice daily publishing
• A pprove and reject pitches from reporters
• Write and report when necessary
• Must be skilled in SEO
• Ideal candidate has wide range of contacts

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• At least 6 years of experience in news, TV or daily video
• Prior management experience for 3 years in a newsroom setting overseeing a team of reporters & editors when applicable
• Prior experience with digital analytics (Chartbeat, Adobe Analytics etc.) to monitor, build traffic is required
• Experience using content management systems
• Knowledge of AP style, exceptional knowledge of current events & politics
• Proven organizational ability to ensure editorial standards are upheld, demands from across company platforms are addressed and smooth handover is made to next shift
• Strong SEO and social media skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to pivot between breaking news stories and in-depth projects with longer deadlines
• Ability/flexibility to work mornings, evenings or weekends as required; possess ''on-call'' mentality and be prepared to work under emergency or breaking news conditions
• To be a self-starter with excellent news judgment for a digital audience
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay For Equal Work Act, please find the compensation range specific to this role if based in Colorado, as well as a description of bonus and benefits generally: Colorado pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skill, experience, and geography: $93,000 - $125,000 annually. Employees in this role are also eligible for various benefits, including: medical/dental/vision benefits, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $92,000.00-123,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. $76,600.00-102,500.00 annually for Colorado. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
