JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is looking for an ambitious newsgatherer to join our National Security team to produce exclusive reporting at the Pentagon. As the Pentagon Producer, you have exceptional editorial skills and strong sources in the defense, intelligence, and foreign policy communities. The Pentagon Producer will have the ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television. The Pentagon Producer is a pro-active, passionate, and self-motivated individual who will work with our reporters to break news and advance the networks' coverage. This position involves the flexibility to adapt to breaking news and the ability to work weekends if needed.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build contacts and develop unique sources that allow you the opportunity to break news and provide editorial guidance to the network
• Assist our National Security Correspondent in gathering video, picking sound bites for use on-air, with live shots, and producing packages
• Pitch stories and develop original content for television and digital that approaches stories from unique angles
• Work closely with correspondents and producers across all platforms to confirm stories, research, and gather interviews
• Field produce, encompassing coordinating crews for the best coverage, shooting video, and providing editorial readouts and pool reports

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 5 years of producing in a broadcast, print, or digital work environment
• Strong contacts in the Defense Department, Capitol Hill, and federal agencies that intersect with the national security beat
• Exceptional editorial judgment and intricate knowledge of national and international politics
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize on a daily basis and especially in breaking news situations
• Proficiency in shooting, editing and digitally transmitting video

• Bachelor's degree
